Richard ( Dick ) WELLS was born in 1775 in Wiltshire. He married Martha Cadby on 28 November 1803 in Devizes, Wiltshire. They had five children in 14 years. He died on 13 March 1843 in his hometown at the age of 68, and was buried in Devizes, Wiltshire.
Richard Wells was a driver of the regular stage coach on the Salisbury Plains in days when an encounter with highwaymen was not uncommon.
He married Martha Cadby and was the father of Henry Cadby Wells, who later came to Australia.
Richard Wells:Born 1780 - 1843 was a coach driver,Salisbury Plain. Richard's brother owned the Roebuck Inn in Devises. Henry Cadby Wells;born 1820 - 1908 is the only child we know of.
