Early Years
Florence’s maidenname was Townsend. Florence was possibly born at Broadheath England, but do not know when. She married John Henry Davies about 1905.
Her father was Fred Townsend (who married twice, and went to Canada) Her mother's name was Elizabeth ?
Florence's brothers and sisters were:
Elizabeth Townsend (M. Frank Hillman)
Edith Townsend (M. Jack Kendrick),
Fred Townsend
Arthur Townsend
Florence's father put his three daughters into a mixed business before he left for Canada. It was on the corner of Railway St., and Dudley Rd. None of the daughters stayed in it for very long, each marrying and settling down elsewhere.
Florence was a tiny lady, with dark brown eyes, black hair, with a very loving nature.
Her children were:
William James Davies (M. Mary Illife Lauder)
Priscella (who died young)
Gertrude (M. Arthur Breedon)
She lived most of her life in Tipton, and died some years before her husband, John Henry Davies. It is presumed that she was cremated and her ashes scattered as were those of her husband, and a reference of her in the cemetery book somewhere around Tipton.
